ACTIVITIES

One of Malaysia’s most popular beach destinations, Langkawi Island is home to exciting nightlife, stunning landscapes, expansive parks, iconic & historical structures, pristine golden beaches, and a lot more. The archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea is often called the Jewel of Kedah for its rich tourism and an array of exciting places to visit in Langkawi.

Sky Bridge

01

The Langkawi Sky Bridge is located at the 'end' of the Cable Car ride. One of the island’s highlights, it is a 410ft-long curved pedestrian bridge above Mount Mat Cinchang. It may sound like a cliché but it is really true - the views from here are simply stunning - great for those Kodak moments!

Cable Car

02

The entrance for the Langkawi Cable Car, which takes visitors all the way up to Mount Mat Cincang, Langkawi’s second highest peak,  is located in The Oriental Village in the upper northwest of Langkawi Island, near Pantai Kok. Entering the village and passing through the pleasant oriental garden and souvenir shops, visitors make their payment at a counter before stepping onto an escalator which brings them to the cable-car pedestal.

Pulau Payar

Waterfalls

04

The Temurun Waterfall drops in three tiers over 650 feet down the slope of Mount Mat Cincang in the nature park of the same name. This is the tallest waterfall in Langkawi. The uppermost tier falls 100 feet to a natural pool suitable for swimming. Along the trail to each tier are several gazebos that visitors can use to rest or have a picnic. Macaque monkeys inhabit the area, as do many species of butterflies and birds. From the top, visitors can see nearby Datai Bay, a captivating resort area with white beaches and azure water.

Pulau Payar Marine Park is a popular site for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts keen on exploring Langkawi’s undersea action. Just 30km south of the main island, it is about 45 minutes away from the Kuah jetty point and you can take either a catamaran or a speedboat to get here.

Cenang Beach

05

Pantai Cenang is the busiest beach town on Langkawi Island, where you can find a diverse mix of cafes and restaurants, as well as souvenir shops, and duty-free outlets along its picturesque beach strip. Just a 10-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport, it’s a popular holiday destination for travelling families thanks to its kid-friendly attractions such as Underwater World Langkawi, Rice Garden Museum, and Kiki Club at Meritus Pelangi Resort & Spa.

Tanjung Rhu Beach

06

Located just beyond Pantai Pasir Hitam, Tanjung Rhu has one of Langkawi’s best shorelines. The waters are as clear as crystal, the sand is powder-fine and driving towards this beach you’ll have to pass a dense corridor of jungle. The area is absolutely secluded and the atmosphere is silent and peaceful. Bordered by intermittent limestone crags, Tanjung Rhu is gorgeously breathtaking and even though it may be as hot as Hades in some of the other areas of Langkawi, here the air is crisp, clean and cool.
