OUR STORY

 

Balance is a ballet school with an outstanding reputation, based in pimlico in London. Since it was established in 1985, Balance has steadily developed an ambitious educational programme. It also runs a variety of outreach classes for students from age 2 through to adults. These include classes for 150 young people throughout London, four Summer Schools and two year-long courses. 

 

In addition, Balance has developed as a semi-professional touring company with an extensive audience base and extremely high reputation for delivering quality productions. The company tours to large venues around England. The company has also toured Europe twice.

 

At Balance we are committed to making the student experience the very best it can possibly be. From two-year-olds taking their first dance class to semi professionals, you will be treated as an individual and offered the very best in dance training.

 

Balance has produced medallists and finalists at the RAD Genée International  Ballet Competition and is regularly represented at the competition.

Marta kamnta

A member of the Royal Academy of Dance and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Marta has danced with companies in the UK, Europe, the Far East and the USA.

​

Born in Germany, she has spent many years teaching and dancing in the United States and was the director of the Mira Mesa Ballet Company. In 1991, she moved to London and founded Balance School and company. She choreographed the early productions of the company. Marta also has extensive experience working in film and television, on the Michael Caton-Jones film, "Rob Roy" and on "Mrs Brown" a film starring Dame Judi Dench and Ballet West patron, Billy Connolly.

 

Marta is the founder of Balance and has steered the company through its development from early beginnings to the present day.
